Chicago is based on a quota system, where each golfer is given a quota based on their course handicap. The quota of points is determined by the following formula:

19 - 9-Hole Course Handicap

As an example, a golfer with a 1 handicap would have a quota of 18 points, while a golfer with a 14 handicap would have a quota of 5. The minimum quota is 2 points, given to golfers with handicaps of 17 and above.

The winner is the player whose point total for 9 holes most exceeds his or her quota (some golfers play that if no one exceeds their quota, the winner is the golfer who comes the closest). So then, how do you score points? Points are awarded based on your gross score for each hole.

Note that points are based on gross (not handicap adjusted) scores. Your handicap is taken into account when calculating your quota. Also note that the number of points in your quota is 3 more than the points you would receive if you shot your handicap by scoring pars or higher.

This event is flighted, but there is only one set of winners in each flight.

• Each player will receive handicap strokes based on their current USGA index and the course played.
• Skins are individual. 2 groups per rotation -- 14.9 and below is group 1, 15.0 and above is group 2.
• Play will be from the club markers, unless you signed up to play the forward tee (Gold) at the beginning of the year.
• Prizes will be awarded in both Gross and Net categories. A player may only win in one category. The Golf Genius program will calculate results with official winners posted once those results are verified.
• Do not enter your score into the computer. Golf Genius will submit your scores automatically.
• All scoring will be done with the mobile scoring app. GGIDs for your groups will be posted on the event tee sheet after close of entries.
• This event qualifies for the Season Long Points Competition.
• USGA rules govern all play. Local rules and policies as posted on the BHMC website apply.
• Help maintain our course. Please replace divots and fix ball marks even if they are not yours.
