This is a two-man team event. Each team will play 6 holes of best ball, 6 holes of scramble, and 6 holes of alternate shot.

1. Each team can decide on what holes to play each format.They do not have to be consecutive. For example, team Smith + Jones may choose to play best ball on holes #1, 2, 9, 11, 16, 18, scramble on holes #3, 6, 7, 8, 12, 17, and alternate shot on holes #4, 5, 10, 13, 14, 15. The strategy is part of the game and will vary from team to team, so long as 6 of each format is played. Failure to play 6 of each format will result in disqualification.
2. A team must declare what format they will play on each hole before hitting a tee shot on that hole.
3. Because we are playing true alternate shot on 6 holes, each player must hit the tee ball on three holes. Using our Smith + Jones pairing, Smith might tee off on holes #4, 10, and 13, which means Jones has to tee off on holes #5, 14, and 15.
4. Each team will receive handicap strokes based on their combined playing handicaps. Teams will receive 40% of the combined handicaps. If player A gets 7 shots and player B gets 13 shots, the team gets 8 (7 +13 = 20, x 40%). The actual calculation done in Golf Genius is more complex, but the basic idea is the same.
5. A team's handicap index cannot differ by more than 8 shots. If their is a difference greater than 8, we reduce the index of the higher handicap player to be 8 more than the lower handicap player.
6. We will play both Gross and Net skins. For skins purposes, it does not matter what format teams play on any given hole. Each team posts only one score per hole, and a skin could be won with any format so long as it beats the field.

• Play will be from the club markers, unless you signed up to play the forward tee (Gold) at the beginning of the year.
• Prizes will be awarded in both Gross and Net categories. A team may only win in one category. The Golf Genius program will calculate results with official winners posted once those results are verified.
• Skins are by team and by flight.
• Scores will NOT be posted to GHIN.
• All scoring will be done with the mobile scoring app. GGIDs for your groups will be posted on the event tee sheet after close of entries.
• This event qualifies for the Season Long Points Competition.
• USGA rules govern all play with the caveat that scramble rules apply on 6 holes. Local rules and policies as posted on the BHMC website apply.
• Help maintain our course. Please replace divots and fix ball marks even if they are not yours.

The tournament committee reserves the right to make changes in event flighting due to tee time availability and/or participation. It is our intention to protect the field and make each event/major as competitive as well as enjoyable as possible for all BHMC members. All questions and concerns should be brought to the attention of the tournament committee.
